I mean really, people. Britney Spears shaves her head and oh my! Judgement Day is at hand!
She's insane. She's on A LOT of drugs. Her poor kids. She's bipolar. OMG TEH CRAZY. And my favorite, "She'll be dead soon."
Seriously, what the hell? Maybe she wanted to see/feel what it was like. Maybe it's her way of starting over. Maybe she finds it liberating. I've shaved my head bald for all those reasons. And maybe she got high and shaved her head. So what? It's just hair; it grows back. Even if it was big, drunken mistake - it's temporary.
I'm especially disappointed and disgusted with the ill-will coming from female bloggers. You're why just about every woman who's involuntarily bald due to chemotherapy or alopecia or whatever feels obligated to hide her baldness. Your intolerance promotes self-hatred and insecurity. Lard help those who fail or refuse to conform to your ridiculous constrict of acceptable female appearance. Yep, you're just a tool of the patriarchy.
Hey, but what do I know. I'm just a crazy, drug addled, unfit mother with electric clippers.

you look gorgeous. i simply do not have the face for baldness! did you know that brit's aunt (whom she was supposedly really close with) died of cancer a couple of weeks ago? some are saying that is why she shaved her head.

amen. i blame the patriarchy, too. i think Dove's Campaign for Beauty should ring Brit up and get her in some ads. SAY something about how we look, about how we feel, about how we have a right to choose how we live in our own bodies.

i think heard some reporter ask the lady at the hair salon "how long does it take to grow back?" i would have seriously laughed in his face.

I can't believe how many bloggers, especially people from whom I would never expect such things, are seriously analyzing her 'craziness' based upon a shaved head.
Thank you for writing this.

I think that she probably just needed a fresh start. I've shaved my head more than a few times for the same reason, that or I needed to get rid of a color I didn't like.
I think that people are absurd in thinking that a woman must have long hair in order to be attractive.
This world is fucking mental.

I totally agree with you that it's ridiculous to judge someone for shaving their head - bald women are beautiful, and I think Brit looks great.
But, from the way she's been acting lately (partying, puking, being a slopping drunk in public, showing her naked crotch in a disgusting manner, and basically acting crazy and unstable)it's really not suprising what people are saying about her sanity and her ability to raise children.
I don't think the fact that she shaved her head makes her a mess, but I definitely think she's a mess. (And also, that possibly I read thesuperficial.com too often).

Jenn,
god forbid anyone should get drunk.
wow, what UNUSUAL behaviour!
gee, THAT doesn't happen every day to millions of people around the planet.
a NAKED crotch you say...and in a "disgusting manner"
oh my!
you know if it weren't for PUSSY, you wouldn't even EXIST on this planet. none of us would.
get over it.

Hi, i agree with what u wrote.
and you look hot hot hot in all those pics! :D I have always wanted to shave my head but dont want to deal with the reactions. I am skinny and really pale with dark features so I know everyone will think I am dying, as well as the stupid reactions of people who think women need to have hair. This is the shortest I have had it (see URL)
once I am 100% working for myself and not temping in offices at all i will probably shave it. I do dye it funny colors but cant go too extreme because of the office jobs.
